Recipients

2011 Alphonse Griffiths is the self appointed keeper of the Atlantic Charter memorial site, two miles out from the beach where Prime Minister Winston Churchill once picked wild flowers, while attending the "First Summit" in August 1941, between himself and President Roosevelt.  This resulted in the historic Atlantic Charter, which was the basis of the United Nations Charter.
2010 Richard M. Langworth C.B.E.. Richard founded the International Churchill Society, now the Churchill Centre, and the Finest Hour Magazine in 1968. This led to the founding of ICS Canada and ICS, now Churchill Centre, U.K. The Society has members throughout the world and in 1998 Richard was awarded the C.B.E. by Queen Elizabeth for his contributions to Anglo American understanding.
2009 R.H. Thomson the award winning actor who brought the sacrifices of the WW1 servicemen to a wide audience through his play "The Lost Boys" and his 1914-1918 Vigil at Canada House in London, which was opened by Queen Elizabeth in November 2008.
2008 Sean Carney the technology instructor at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute in Toronto who secured an inoperable M4Sherman tank from the Dept. of National Defence and it will be re-fitted by the students and returned to the military.
2008 Martin Holzer the welding instructor at the Albert E. Peacock Collegiate Institute in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, who led a project to refurbish the statue of Winston Churchill at the school. The statue which was unveiled in 1943 and is the oldest statue of Churchill in the world. The work took 400 hours of his and his students time and was re-unveiled in December 2007.
2007 David Robinson a teacher at Port Perry High School who was the driving force in the visit of 5,000 Canadian students to Vimy Ridge to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the WW1 battle.
